The Introduction to the Understanding of The Kingdom of God\the Government of God

The fundamental purpose of this lesson is to give you a clearer understanding of the Kingdom of God and His divine government. Within the 4 gospels and Acts chapter 1:1-3, the phrase the Kingdom of Heaven occurs 112 times, the phrase the Kingdom of God occurs 204 times and the kingdom of darkness occurs 12 times.

Everywhere Jesus went he preached about the Kingdom of God starting from Matthew 4:17 and concluding with Acts 1:1-3; where Jesus for forty days instructed the apostles of things pertaining to the Kingdom of God, which was his assignment.

His message was not primarily focused on that you must be born again, however, He did say that you will not see the Kingdom of God except you be born again according to John 3:3. Neither did He make these other subjects the focus of His preaching: prosperity, healing, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, or many the other subjects that are being preached so much about today. Jesus taught about those things, and He demonstrated them in His day-by-day ministry, but He did not preach them. There is a big difference. Jesus had only one message: the Kingdom of God. That was His assignment, and He passed it on to us. His assignment is our assignment. It would have been great to get saved and go straight to Heaven, but He left us here on the earth in order to complete the work that He began.

He sits on the throne of heaven directing that work through His representatives. Unfortunately, most of us do not really understand what Jesus meant when He spoke of the Kingdom.”

Here in the United States, we have or allegedly have a democratic system of government where elections allow us to choose a candidate for office in an organization by casting ballots chosen by the voters and citizens.

The Middle East is governed by dictatorship. This is a tyranny style of government (as known as an authoritarian government) that identifies a person who has absolute power and control over that country.

In Europe, the United Kingdom of Great Britain, they have:

  • Kings and Queens, who are descendants of Royal parents
  • The Prime Minister is the Chief member of the cabinet of ministry with a parliament system.
  • House of Lords
  • House of Commons

In the above list of examples of government and/or kingdoms, but they do not apply to God’s divine standards of administration.

When you think about the kingdom, it is synonymous with a government.  However, in this lesson, we are talking about the kingdom of God and His divine government.

I come to recognize that there are several groups of people in the world today.  The heathens (sinners), the religious (have their way of getting to God), and the citizens of the kingdom of God. For those who are serious about their citizenship in the Kingdom of God.  This lesson is for them.  The sincere citizens of the Kingdom of God (In Paul’s writing 2 Corinthians 2:17)

1. What is the Kingdom of Heaven? It is the spiritual home of God or the Presence of God, the 3rd  heaven According to Isaiah 66:1 Acts 7:49; …” Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool”; and Revelation 4:1-8; It is the place where those that are Born again will go when life here on the earth is over. In the kingdom of Heaven, God has nine categories of Angels: Angels, Archangels, Virtues or Might, Powers, Principles, Dominations, Thrones, Cherubims, and Seraphims.

We must understand that the Kingdom of Heaven is a real place, a prepared place for a prepared people, and The Kingdom of God is the Government of God, the system by which He operates. Many times especially here in the United States of America, we are not familiar with the functionality of a kingdom system of government but are more familiar with a democratic system of government.

2.  What is the Kingdom of God? It is the invisible divine government located in the spirit realm that is established on the earth when the will of its King has been carried out (Isaiah9:6).

3. What is the kingdom of darkness? The Kingdom of darkness Head Quarters are located in the 2nd heaven, In addition, there is the Kingdom of Darkness, that has a kingdom system of government, and we as believers should not be ignorant of that system. Satan is their leader, and in the kingdom of darkness, satan has five categories of fallen Angels: Principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world, spiritual wickedness in high places, and demons. In addition, the kingdom of darkness has principalities rulership over His Kingdoms in the earth such as Financial, Economic, Religious, Political, Media, Arts & theatre, and Social Matthew 12:8-10;

Two Kingdoms (Governmental systems) on planet earth

Initially, we had the kingdom of God, God created a planet called earth. Earth is the extension of heaven or a child of heaven. One is in the spiritual realm and the other is in the natural realm, or spirit being with a natural body.

Within the Kingdom of Heaven, there was a rebellion by one of God’s angels by the name of Lucifer.  He was an anointed cherub who evidently had some type of throne and authority. Lucifer decided that he wanted to be more powerful than God who created him.

The results of this rebellion caused Lucifer and one-third of God’s angels that followed him to be kicked out of heaven causing the creation of the kingdom of darkness. Once Adam sinned through disobedience, he caused the earth come under the rulership of Satan. In order to understand the seriousness of what Adam did, he became a servant of Satan, and Satan became his father. To take this a little deeper as we must understand the scriptures, at this present time, we have two kingdoms on one planet:

The Kingdom of God with a divine governmental system of laws and principles based on Giving and Receiving (See Matthew 4:17).

Kingdom of darkness, the devil and his debacle governmental system of laws and principles based on Buying and Selling which is also known as the  Babylon system. (See Matthew 12:22-26)

The kingdom of darkness is an invisible evil government in the spiritual realm that is established on the earth by satan. Satan who perverts what he took from Adam now is the head. When a person habitually practices sin, they are operating in Satan’s government, the kingdom of darkness. Revelation 11:15

In examining the Holy Scriptures, Ephesians 1:21, 3:10 and Colossians 2:10; 15; we will clearly see that Jesus operating as a man defeated satan according to 1 John 3:8b. The devil with his host of principalities, Powers of the air, rulers of the darkness of this world, and spiritual wickedness in Heavenlies.”

In the kingdom of darkness, the devil has 5 categories of fallen Angels: Principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world, spiritual wickedness in high places, and demons.

Doctor Luke primary wrote about this in the books of Luke and Acts. We find in the books of Acts that Philip and Paul preached and taught the Kingdom of God.

  • Acts 8:11-13; Philip preached the Kingdom of God
  • Acts 19:7-9; Paul preached the Kingdom of God
  • Acts 28:30-31; Paul preached the Kingdom of God
  • According to Colossians 1:13; the only way into the kingdom of God and to experience the kingdom life is to be born into it.

When the Bible says we must be born again, the original Greek version states that we must be born from above. We are actually born from heaven another government, another country the kingdom of God.

Translated into God’s Kingdom

We come into the kingdom of God, and at the same time, the kingdom of God comes inside of us.  As believers, we have the kingdom of God on the inside of us. (Luke 17:21; Romans 8:11; Colossians 1:9-14; Ephesians 1:16-18;)

In other words, Jesus was explaining how you should not operate from both kingdoms, while also declaring that the Kingdom of God or the government of God, which is invisible to the natural eyes. Just as Jesus understood this we need to understand what is going on in the earth is not about people or money, it is about kingdoms and how they are governed.

As the Holy Spirit is governing the body of Christ, we need to understand that the church is a living organism and not a building with four walls.

The true believers within the walls are the “called out ones”, (Greek word Ecclesia). We have executive leaders such as Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers. These leaders receive instructions from headquarters, where the Lord Jesus Christ is seated at the right hand of the throne of God in Heaven via the Holy Spirit.

These executive leaders then impart revelation of knowledge received from Heaven to the citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven by preaching and teaching via the Holy Spirit.

In addition, an individual can receive confirmation of what they have received because an individual can receive from headquarters just as the executive leaders can via the person of the Holy Spirit.  This impartation and confirmation help us to be effective citizens of the Kingdom of God.

As the co-labor of the body of Christ we the citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven we come together for Kingdom business and the purpose is threefold:

To bestow upon our God, our King and the Holy Spirit praise and worship that the Godhead is so worthy to receive, thus creating an atmosphere
To receive specific instructions about Kingdom operations for this embassy to carry out
As ambassadors of the Kingdom of God we to receive instructions and directions, then we are to examine the constitution to see  if what we have received is in line with the Word of God
As citizens, we are too disseminated to each of our jurisdiction their (place of influence) executing these instructions and directions as examples consequently of being effective kingdom citizens through our living Kingdom of God life.

This is similar to the government of the United States. We have elected the official that comes from each state to a central location (Washington, DC) to conduct government business Such as making laws on the behalf of the citizens. Then the elected officials will go back to his/her district, state or jurisdiction that they represent and inform them of the laws that have been made.

An Overview of Jesus Ministry

  • Jesus announced the arrival of the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand (Matthew 4:17);
  • Jesus explains how we can enter the Kingdom of God. (John 3:3-7, Romans 10:9-10)
  • Jesus preached and taught about the kingdom of God, and its location (Luke 17:21) for three years prior to His death, burial and resurrection.
  • Jesus taught about the person of who is our (Helper, Comforter, Teacher Spirit of Truth, convicts, reveals) the Holy Spirit and what He would do when He came after Jesus departed from the earth. (John 14:16-17, 14:26, 16:13).
  • Jesus taught about the kingdom of God for forty days prior to his accession to Heaven (Acts 1:1-3).
  • Paul in His letter to the Thessalonians defined the makeup of humanity. (1 Thessalonians 5:23).
  • In His letters, the Romans taught us how to be led by the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:14). Paul in His letter to the Philippians on how to know when you are operating in the Kingdom of God (Philippians 4:6-7)
  • Kingdom of God’s is not of this world, but it works on this earth because He put it inside of us. While sojourning here on this earth, Jesus taught extensively about the kingdom of God.

Summary

Jesus has returned to Heaven after completing his responsibility of restoring the kingdom of God back on earth. In restoring the Kingdom back on earth, He raised up disciples and Apostle to continue the preaching of the Gospel of the Kingdom of God or the government of God.

As ambassadors of Christ, we should be concerned only with the interests of our King. Everything we say and do reflect that desire and that purpose. Our personal opinion does not matter. It is completely improper for an ambassador to express his or her personal opinions while acting in his official capacity as the representative and voice of his government.

As members of the body of Christ, we are the hands, feet, the arms, the fingers of God in the earth today, and we are commission to continue what has started.
